Shorts: Release Friday – 05 September 2025

Another Friday and another week full of interesting releases! Yay!

Let’s start with my most awaited release of this week: My beloved Oceans released a new single today and not only does it once again just click with me – it also comes with an absolutely perfect feature: Fabian Getto of Equilibrium joined them for the song Still Nøt Okay and wow. It’s a fits!

Speaking of Equilibrium: There’s finally something new from them as well! Not only has guitarist and composer René Berthiaume recently announced that the next album is now more or less done – they also blessed us with a new single. It’s been a while since their last release Gnosis, and BLOODWOOD is an incredibly good song that hits right in the face with the well-known epic sound of Equilibrium! I’m so looking forward to their first album with Fabian Getto!

Today, Cemetery Skyline also released a new song called Nothing From This World and wow, yes, I’m in love. It has a great vibe!

Another new release today comes from my favourite German metal powercouple Valeria & Max Nash aka Böse Fuchs. Not gonna lie, I personally think parting ways with their latest singer and pursuing their own path has done them SO WELL. Say hello to Judas || Purgatory:

More on the fun side of metal: The Saltatio Mortis side project Bad Loverz released a „new“ song. So here’s their take on Robbie Williams‘ great hit Angels, which is THE song to end a party in Germany 😂

The collaboration I didn’t ask for but certainly needed finally came to life this week: Lord of the Lost recorded a song with Käärijä and while it’s a banger, I’m a tiiiiny bit disappointed that Käärijä’s contribution to the song is fairly small (similar level of disappointment as with The Rasmus‘ feature with Niko Vilhelm). BUT Raveyard is still a great song that gets stuck in your head waaaay too easily.

Also, happy release day to my favourite Summer Breeze discovery this year: The French metalcore band Revnoir released their new album/EP Coma today and it’s incredibly good! I don’t know what’s up with French metal(core) bands recently, I keep discovering new ones that blow me away. Tons of love to Revnoir!

Speaking of French Summer Breeze discovery, one release slipped my attention last week because I didn’t really have them on my radar yet: The French melodic death metal band Aephanemere released a new song called La règle du jeu last week, so I wanna add this one here:

And I found an album release that slipped my attention as well. After switching from Spotify to TIDAL I need to teach a new algorithm to find out what I like, so some well-established artist that would make my Spotify release radar are not quite part of my TIDAL experience yet. So here’s a big Hello to Feuerschwanz and their new album Knightclub. I haven’t listened to the entire album yet but I trust them that this is as much of a banger as the title track itself.
